CipherSafe.NET™ licensing model works on a per-computer basis.

Evaluation

Unlicensed copies of the product can be used for evaluation purposes. They work exactly as licensed versions with one exception: they do not allow managing more than one application profile per application type.

Licenses

There are several license categories, which define the permitted number of computers, on which the product can be installed. The following list briefly describes available license categories:

1. Personal license
   Allows product registration on 2, 5, 10, 20 and more computers (up to 100 in increments of 10). Online registration is required.
2. Site license
   Can cover 100, 300, or 1000 computers. All computers must belong to the same company or organization. Online registration is not required.
3. Corporate license
   Allows to install the product on the unlimited number of computers within the same company or organization. Online registration is not required. Eligible for free lifetime upgrades.*
4. Redistributable license
   Allows to redistribute the product to the unlimited number of computers as part of a single application. Online registration is not required. Eligible for free lifetime upgrades.*

One of the main advantages of the Site, Corporate, and Redistributable licenses is that they allow the users to register product offline using a license file (see the Registration section below).

Registration

Licensed copies of the product must be registered on every computer where the product is installed. Product registration is normally done over the Internet. After initial registration, Site, Corporate, and Redistributable licenses allow the customers to register additional copies of the product using the license file; this option does not require Internet connection. Refunds

If you are not satisfied with the product for any reason, you can receive a full refund within 30 calendar days of the purchase date. If you have a valid reason to be dissatisfied with the product, you may be able to get a partial refund (i.e. refund minus processing fee) for up to 90 days after the purchase date. To apply for a refund, contact our sales team. IMPORTANT: Refunds can be applied to Personal license only; Site, Corporate, and Redistributable licenses are NON-REFUNDABLE unless you do not register the product or can prove that you cannot use the product.

Free licenses

We offer free Personal licenses for both Professional and Enterprise Editions of the product to non-profit organizations and educational institutions. Depending on your circumstances, individual (non-corporate) users may qualify for free licenses as well (for example, if you have financial difficulties or technical problems ordering the product online). To apply for a free license, contact our sales team.

Sale information

Our current policy is to have a new version of the product on sale for approximately one month after the official release; however, this may change in future. There are no promotional sales at this time.

Version upgrades

Registered license owners are entitled to:

• FREE maintenance upgrades for the licensed version (minor releases, such as 1.0.0.x to 1.0.1.x), and
• FREE major upgrades for at least one release (such as 1.0 to 1.1), and
• Any number of FREE upgrades within at least one year of the purchase.
• Corporate and Redistributable license holders are eligible for free lifetime upgrades.*

License upgrades

If you purchase one type of license and later decide to upgrade to a more expensive one or if you want to switch to a compatible license (such as changing Personal license for 100 computers to Site License for 100 computers), we will ask you to just pay the difference (if any). If you need to change or upgrade the purchased license, contact our sales team.

Edition upgrades and downgrades

If you purchase a license for an Enterprise Edition of the product, you can use it to register a Professional Edition instead, but not vice versa. A purchased license should cover all previous versions of the same edition of the product as long as the version is supported.

* The Free Lifetime Upgrade policy is subject to change at our discretion; however, if a change in this policy occurs at any time in future, it will not be retroactive. In the other words, any possible changes in the policy will only affect future customers and will not affect existing license holders.
